Dating back to the 15th century, the palace was once owned by prominent Bolognese families such as the Villa, Volta, and Marsili. In 1557, it was acquired by the Isolani family, who, according to historian Guidicini, endowed the palace’s internal architecture with distinct dignity through the work of architects Paolo Canali and Luigi Casali.
